This winter, a power flush can be the ultimate solution to save money on your boiler. Who wouldn’t want that?

As time passes, dirt and residue will accumulate throughout your heating system. This buildup can coat the interior of pipes and radiators, affecting water flow in the process. To compensate for diminished circulation, your boiler has to work even harder – leading to higher energy bills at the end of each month.

Power flushing has repeatedly proven to be the most cost-effective way to keep your heating system running at optimal efficiency. With our reliable service, you can rest assured that your central heating will work smoothly come wintertime.

You can rely on Lewken Plumbing And Heating for a professional power flushing service that efficiently cleans your heating system.

You can help eliminate sludge and grime accumulation by choosing to power flush your boiler. Additionally, this proactive action will drastically decrease the possibility of a costly breakdown.

This should be done every five years to ensure the long-term operation and efficiency of your boiler. Also, consider having it inspected if you notice any of the following:

contacted about replacing the heating element for my hot water immersion heater. Not a difficult job and was told that the costs were £62.50 per half hour + VAT. Obviously any parts would be an additional expense. When they turned up I was told that the minimum call out was for 1 hour so £125.00 + VAT would be the minimum charge. I explained to the plumber that this was not what I had been quoted and he phoned the office and I spoke to owner, who was the person who had originally quoted. His response was that 1 hour was the minimum when I questioned why he quoted by the half hour his response was rude and abrasive " if you're not happy I'll tell them to pack up and leave, we've got plenty of business" I'll leave everyone to draw their own conclusions, (the plumber who turned was polite and professional ) but I would recommend getting another quote from another business. Customer service and manners cost nothing. Quoting one price on the phone and then doubling that price when a plumber arrives makes the company appear untrustworthy and a little shady

If you have questions, then we have the answers

What is a power flush?

A power flush is a process that uses water and chemicals to remove debris, rust, and sludge from your heating system. It helps improve the efficiency of your central heating, reduces noise levels, and eliminates cold spots in radiators.

How does a power flush work?

Power flushing involves running water through your heating system at high speed, which forces any built-up dirt and debris out of the pipes and radiators. The water is flushed out along with these particles, leaving you with cleaner pipes and improved performance.

Why do I need a power flush?

Over time, the build-up of sludge and debris can cause inefficiencies in your heating system, as well as noise and cold spots. You can reduce these issues by power flushing and helping ensure your system runs smoothly and efficiently.

What is the cost of a power flush?

The power flush cost will depend on the size of your system and other factors, such as access restrictions or the degree of blockage. However, generally speaking, a power flush costs between £300 – £500.

How long does a power flush take?

On average, a power flush takes 4-6 hours to complete. This really depends on the size of your heating system and any access restrictions that may be present.

What are the benefits of a power flush?

The main benefit of a power flush is improved efficiency and performance of your heating system, which can help reduce energy bills in the long run. You’ll also have less noise from the radiators and fewer cold spots in them. Finally, it will prolong the life expectancy of your boiler and central heating system.
